Online Connections
Official Forums and Websites
Social Contacts
American Mensa offers several options for interacting
online, all of which are available to members only, so
please be prepared with your membership number and
password to log onto these. There are several email lists
available on the American Mensa website, for both news
gathering and discussion; while some are intended for
officers, others are directed to the membership at large.
In addition, the AML Community
offers
general interest
and special interest forums as well
as live chat. Go here
for help with you password or other access issues.
Websites
Negotiating the American Mensa websites can be challenging!
Here is a listing of areas that might be of interest to you:
- American Mensa - this is the main website where you can find
information about joining Mensa, events and local groups,
among other things. You
can also renew your membership
and update your personal
information there.
Most of these
pages are open to the
general public.
- Inside AML - this site is directed at the volunteer officers in
American Mensa with information on handbooks, forms,
communication,
etc.
These pages are for members only
and require a sign-in and
password to access.
- AML Community - these pages (again, for members only)
are intended to provide chat and forum discussion opportunities
for members, as described above.
- Mensa Foundation - this is the webpage for the Mensa Foundation
for Research and Education, also known as MERF. These pages
are open to the public.
- Mensa For Kids - for our youngest members and non-members
alike, this site is courtesy of MERF.
- Mensa Boutique - this is the place to look for games, books,
puzzles, jewelry and other member-only items!
In addition, websites have been created for annual events, such
as Mind Games, the Colloquium and the Annual Gathering.

Yahoo! Groups
Many local groups offer Yahoo! groups for the use of their
members - check with your local group for more information.
In addition, many of the national SIGS offer Yahoo! Groups
as well. You can find a partial list of the eSIGS available
on
Yahoo! Groups here. Please bear in mind that while some of
these are the online versions of official Mensa SIGS, others
are simply interest groups frequented by Mensans and
non-Mensans alike.

Other Sites
There are a number of official, and unofficial, Mensa groups
on various social websites. Here are a few:
Facebook - The American Mensa page is here. There is also
Facebook Mensa, an International Mensa Election group, and
any number of local and special interest Mensa groups. (Note
-
you must be a member of Facebook and be logged in to
access the first two groups).
The Smart Life - Started by Region 3 Mensan Alan Baltis,
this privately owned social site for Smarties and their
invited guests can be found here.
Twitter - you can find American Mensa here. Look for your
local groups as well!
