A note from our RVC:
NomComm Representatives Needed
Although I haven't even been RVC3 for six months, I've been asked to have LocSecs recommend individuals to sit on the National Nominating Committee. Nominations must be in by January 2 so that LocSecs can vote for who will represent Region 3. Voting must be completed by January 30 so that the AMC can be approved at the March 6 AMC meeting.
If you wish to serve on the National NomComm, please let me know and include a brief bio so that the 16 regional loc secs can make an informed decision about whom they wish to represent us. Remember that anyone serving on the NomComm or anyone living at that same address cannot run for a national office. (I resigned as NomComm Assistant Chair and Region 3 rep to run for RVC3.) The NomComm will decide it's role (the primary role will be to find members to run for office, but it may empower itself to pass judgment on those who seek NomComm endorsement) when it meets at the 2010 AG in Dearborn. Nom Comm members do NOT need to attend the AG. Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
The ASIE pertaining to members of the NomComm is:
1981-073 29-Aug-1981
That in order to avoid even the appearance of impropriety by the Nominating Committee, all appointments to it shall be subject to the following continuing condition: A member of the Nominating Committee shall be deemed to have resigned from the Nominating Committee, and shall take no further part in its deliberations or voting, at such time as either the spouse or a member of the same household of such Nominating Committee member is actively considered by the Nominating Committee as a candidate for a Regional or National office at the election concerned.
Hugs, LLAP and Peace,
Betsy
